How To Apply For Canada Skilled Immigration Visa
Canada has become one of the best destinations for tourists, investors, students, and immigrants looking for better study or work opportunities. For this reason, more and more people are interested in immigrating to Canada.
Immigrating to Canada as a Skilled Worker
The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Office of Canada (IRCC) offers several routes for emigrating to Canada, and in this article, we will explain one of the easiest ways to immigrate to Canada as a skilled worker; the Express Entry.
Express Entry
The Express Entry is an online system created by the Canadian government in 2015. In simple terms, Express Entry is the system used by the IRCC to manage permanent residence applications from skilled workers that are received through three programs to immigrate to Canada:
Federal Skilled Worker Program: aimed at immigrants with specific professional experience.
Federal Skilled Trades Program: aimed at immigrants with certified experience in the development of trade as builders, crane operators, miners, etc.
Canadian Experience Class: aimed at temporary workers who worked or are working in the country (for at least one year) and want to stay and live in Canada.
The system, therefore, allows qualified workers to send their profiles and CVs to Canadian companies that are attached to the program. In fact, Express Entry is one of the most efficient systems for those seeking to obtain permanent residence in Canada.
How does the Express Entry system work?
The first thing you should know is that moving to Canada through Express Entry is competition-based, and your qualification depends on the information available on your profile. Your profile will be compared with that of the other applicants with the objective that the government only invites the best candidates to submit an application for permanent residence.
So the Express Entry ranking score is based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and goes up to 1,200 points. The logic is as follows: the higher a candidate’s CRS score, the greater the probability that they will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a permanent residence visa.
Express Entry Requirements?
Although each of the programs to immigrate to Canada created within the Express Entry has particular requirements, in general, the Immigration Office will ask you for three basic documents.
Language test
The linguistic command of English or French is essential when submitting an application. To do this, you will have to take one of the international exams such as the IETLS (English) or the TEF (French). The minimum level required will depend on each program, but in general, an advanced level is required.
Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)
The ECA is an evaluation that seeks to verify the quality of non-Canadian education according to government standards. This is one of the most important aspects of the application, as education is an important component of the CRS score.
Keep in mind that if you graduated from a Canadian college or university, there is no need to submit the ECA.
Passport
Presenting a valid passport is crucial for a good application.
Also, if you want to increase your chances of scoring higher you can attach the following documents:
Minimum 1-year qualified experience in the position for which you applied.
Criminal record.
Medical record.
Proof of economic funds.
Certificate of a valid job offer offered by a Canadian company.
